On January 21st, 2014, the new training facility of the Lower Silesia Chamber of Architects was officially inaugurated. In order to serve this new function, the building of the former WuWA kindergarten, which burned down in 2006, had been reconstructed according to the original plans of Paul Heim and Albert Kempter. Many guests were welcomed – among them the major of Wrocław Rafał Dutkiewicz, the deputy major Adam Grehl, the city architect Piotr Fokczyński, the director of the municipal historic preservation authority Katarzyna Hawrylak-Brzezowska, the chairman of the Lower Silesia Chamber of Architects Zbigniew Maćków, and numerous architects who had contributed their skills and their commitment to the realisation of this project – Andrzej Poniewierka, Dr. Jadwiga Urbanik, Dr. Tadeusz Sawa-Borysławski and many others.
The “architects-kindergarten” is not meant to be reserved to the architects. It will also be a place for exhibitions, lectures, seminars, workshops and film screenings adressed to a broad public.
